“Bowing Down Before Him” (V.2)
Going to Him in humility & prayer
He is to be our primary source of restoration
Not demanding anything from Him/ Bow before His Lordship
In accordance to His will; “If You are willing”
The will of God in these matters is a mystery
Isaiah 55:8–9 ““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares Yahweh. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Sometimes suffering and hardship is in accordance with the will of God. (This destroys the Prosperity Gospel)
(John 9:1-5) Jesus informs us that the man was born blind so that God may be glorified through him at the appropriate time
In faith; “You CAN make me clean”
No doubt in what Christ can do/ The Father has proved He is with Jesus time and time again.
We must have faith when we go to Christ
James 1:6 “But he must ask in faith, doubting nothing, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.”
And IF it is in accordance with His will, then the LORD Most High will see that it is accomplished and without hesitation. “Immediately”
“I am Willing; Be Cleansed” (V.3)
The Lord is compassionate
It hurts Him to see us suffer because He knows we do not fully understand why we are suffering
There is no possible way of knowing how many people He healed in His lifetime. (The world could not contain it)
The Lord is authoritative
He simply says, “Be cleansed” and immediately the leprosy left him
He does not wonder how to do it, He just commands it to be so
All authority has been given to Him (Matthew 28:18)
The man had no recovery time, there was no need for a second appointment, the man was completely healed.
The Lord is humble
He doe not make a big scene out of it or monologue about His greatness and His relationship with God
“Tell No One” (V.4)
Seeks no glory for Himself
He does not ask for money (Prosperity Preachers) or seek to have His Name exalted and plastered on a great building.
He does the exact opposite, “Tell no one”
Seeks only glory for His Father
Tells the man to do as Moses commanded (As God revealed to Moses; Leviticus 14)
Does not tell him to mention His Name but only that God has healed him.
Christ is satisfied/ content when the Father is exalted; glorified and honored.
The woman at the well
The beggar born blind
As a testimony to them/ us.
That God has not abandoned the man
Common belief that disabilities and sickness was a result of God’s divine judgement on a person
That God is still at work among them
God is still capable
They had considered God silent and unresponsive (Forgotten His works and ceased to look for them)
He has always been and is to this day willing to respond to the faith of His people to the glory of His majesty.
